The Undiscovered & Will Phifer

Will Phifer

Recently, I've been working on a website for one of The Undiscovered's represented artists. His name is Will Phifer and he is an extremely talented graphic designer, illustrator, and studio artist.

Will has been a long time friend that inspired me to start practicing and experiencing with different medias within art. He has always been better at certain aspects of art than me, but I saw that as an opportunity. Will was like a teacher when it came to studio art, and I was his when it came to graphic design. We feed off of each others creativity as well as the inspiration for us both to succeed. For a good while in college Will and I would be taking the same classes, but never at the same time. The first semester of junior year was the first and last time that Will and I ever had a class together. It was Typography I, and we both already knew all of it because we already had the knowledge from previous classes. Will was a transfer student that came in as a junior from Forsyth Technical Community College. There he studied and received his associates degree in graphic design. While studying to gain his degree, he had to take typography class. However, the class didn't transfer, so that's why we got to take a class together. In Typography I, we had the best of times and it was a great experience to get constant feedback on something that you're working on. Our friendship and minds grew side by side with one another because of that class. When working on a new project we would pitch ideas out to each other, and if one of us got stuck while executing a design, the other would help. We both excelled immensely throughout the course of that class.

From there on, Will and I took separate paths of art. He decided to head towards the path of studio art while I merged over into communications concentrating in creative advertising. My goal of making Will's website is that he will become more well known to the world. His talent is too grand to never be found. I want people to appreciate and love his art like I do. I believe that he can make it in the world as an artist. Not many people do, but I truly believe that he can make it possible.
